The genus Viola L. with more than 500 species is difficult taxonomic group due to great intraspecific morphological variability resulted from the influence of environmental conditions but also from hybridization. Interspecific hybrids form hybrid swarm or introgressants, therefore species discrimination still remains a problem in this genus.
