Deriving syntax-semantics mappings: node linking, type shifting and scope ambiguity

In this paper, we introduce a type-shifting operation which provides a principled means of describing the derivational links required in Synchronous TAG accounts of quantification. No longer do links appear on root nodes of predicates on an ad hoc basis, rather they are generated as a part of a type-shifting mechanism over arguments of the predicate.
