Kusakabe Meikaku (1838Meikaku ( -1922) ) was a famous calligrapher in the Meiji period of Japan . He began to sojourn in China in the spring of the 24th year of Meiji (1891) . This paper discusses Kusakabe Meikaku 's trip to China. Based on the Uikiyūsō and Meikaku Sensei Sōwa, this paper attempts to restore the longitude and latitude of Meikaku 's roaming in China and explore the communication between Meikaku and Chinese literati during his wanderings.
