Once a good immune response has developed in an animal and an appropriate screening procedure has been developed, the construction of hybridomas is ready to begin. The electro cell fusion (electrofusion) method uses an electrical field in the form of short, intense pulses to increase the permeability of the membrane. The resulting local perforation of the cell membrane induces the cells to fuse, forming hybridomas. Electrofusion is accomplished in three steps: Prealignment of the cellsdoi:10.1101/pdb.prot103184 pmid:31575798 fatcat:hr74whdwjfdjliidqcehvh7edy
