The atmospheric re-entry of a space object (operational or not) is defined as its return to the surface of the planet. Space Debris can suffer a non-negligible action from atmospheric drag. These bodies tend to initiate the process of natural re-entry. This means that there is no way to avoid a collision of this Space Debris with a commercial aircraft, for example, or change its collision course towards an industrial zone with large amounts of flammable substances stored.
