In this study, we have investigated dendrimeric architecture as "nano-glue" material for RI-sensitive fiberoptic sensors. Dendrimers are immobilized on fiber-optic probes using a simple method that includes dipping, rinsing and drying of probes at room temperature. Dendrimer binding was confirmed by contact angle measurement and fluorescein isothiocyanate binding studies. These functionalized probes were coated with gold nanoparticles to develop localized surface plasmon resonance-based

RI sensitivity measurement revealed that the dendrimeric matrix enhanced the RI sensitivity by 1.4-fold compared to twodimensional amino-silanized sensor matrices. This suggests that dendrimer molecules are better choice as "nano-glue" material for fiber-optic sensors.
