Based on a video sequence of a German class in an integrative school in the German speaking part of Switzerland, the paper investigates the relevance of teaching activities on classroom stage for the (re)production of differences. The reconstructed interactions, that is to say, distinguishing between students by comparing their academic performance produces a frame for the construction of further differences. By using the documentary method, a shared classroom milieu will be reconstructed. In
