were followed by alterative doses of the blue pill. She had also taken regularly a diuretic mixture, consisting of one drachm of nitrate of potash, one drachm of sweet spirits of nitre, half a drachm of tincture of digitalis, two drachms of spirits of juniper, and seven and a half ounces of water, three tablespoonfuls of which were taken three times a-day. She had also an occasional dose of jalap powder with cream of tartar; these had occasioned copious watery dejections. Under this treatment
