The generation that some call "digital natives" can demonstrate a fluid relationship with the use of various devices. However, they tend to ignore how such devices work. A geração que alguns atualmente denominam "nativos digitais " demonstra uma relação fluida com o uso de dispositivos diversos, entretanto, tendem a ignorar como tais dispositivos funcionam. O Projeto Jovem Hacker tem como objetivo investigar maneiras de auxiliar na formação de uma geração que seja autônoma tecnologicamente. Neste artigo, relatamos nossa a primeira experiência no contexto do Projeto Jovem Hacker, por meio da realização de um piloto com a linguagem Scratch. Apontamos lições aprendidas e desafios rumo ao empoderamento tecnológico de jovens. Esperamos, com isso, desenhar um modelo inicial para formação de jovens em direção à autonomia tecnológica, para além do Scratch, com linguagens mais poderosas e um melhor entendimento da nossa sociedade tecnológica.
