In the present study, Aseel chicken was studied to evaluate high and low immune responses by assessing immunocompetence traits like hemagglutination assay (HA), serum lysozyme activity, and immunoglobulin G (IgG) in blood. A total of 301 Aseel birds were selected to get all the important immunocompetence parameters. Antibody titers against sheep red blood corpuscles (SRBC) and serum IgG levels acted as the humoral immune response indicators. In contrast, the bacteriolytic activity of serum

The mean HA titer, serum lysozyme and IgG levels were 8.14 ± 0.35, 4.85 ± 0.20, 10.82 ± 0.64 in males and 8.15 ± 0.31, 4.48 ± 0.22, and 12.64 ± 0.75 in females, respectively. Sex did not affect immunocompetence traits; however, the average serum IgG concentration was higher in females than in males. In conclusion, we accessed immunocompetence traits of male and female Aseel. A comparison of Aseel's immune competence status with broiler and other fowl chicken would be a piece of valuable information for poultry breeders.
