The Organization and Coordination of Research Work in the Area of Library Science in the Soviel Union This report gives on overview of the organization of library science research in the USSR. The State management of science is designated äs the most important prerequisite; the official bodies which have supervisory functions in this capacity are described. Documents, in which research planning in the area of library science is set forth r are delineated: the Five-Year-Plans for libraries and the All-Union-Coordination Plans, which are prepared on the basis of recommendations and expanded or corrected by the Annual Plans.
