GROUND-TRACKING FOR ON AND OFF-ROAD DETECTION OF LANDMINES WITH GROUND PENETRATING RADAR
2006
Transformational Science and Technology for the Current and Future Force
Ground penetrating radar is a high-resolution electromagnetic technology that has demonstrated excellent potential for high probability of detection while keeping false alarm rate low for landmine detection in on-road tests. Off-road situations require more advanced methods for dealing with the most significant reflection in GPR data, the ground bounce. Performance enhancements achieved via groundtracking are demonstrated in terms of receiver operating characteristic curves.
