Carcinoma cuniculatum is a rare variant of well-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma of the esophagus, with fewer than twenty cases reported in the literature  . Diagnosis is often delayed due to failure of endoscopic biopsies to yield a defi nitive tissue diagnosis.
