SURFACE-LAYER THICKNESS AND NEAR-SURFACE DIFFUSION OF OXYGEN IN Y2O3
1990
Le Journal de Physique Colloques
t : Oxygen exchange reaction between Y 0 and '$0 was moni tored tPthraC: microbalance. Analyzing data th2 'near-surZace diffusion coefficient and the surface-layer thickness were obtained. The nearsurface diffusion is 1-1 orders of magnitude faster than the oxygen lattice diffusion in the same system. The surface-layer thickness is similar to the thickness in m-Zr02 and is slightly larger than that in NiO. Article published online by EDP Sciences and available at http://dx.
