Development of enhanced ice flow at the southern margin of Ice Stream D, Antarctica
1994
Annals of Glaciology
A combination of image-based velocity mapping techniques and finite-element modeling has been used to study a part of the southern shear margin of Ice Stream D, Antarctica. The study area is a region over which the margin shows considerable development morphologically, where a new southern margin is forming in response to an abrupt increase in ice-stream width just upstream of the study area. A series of ice-speed profiles perpendicular to the margin was determined by semiautomated displacement
