The spin-dependent distribution functions of quarks and gluons in a proton are studied so as to explain EMC gr(x) data by introducing a new model based on Carlitz-Kaur model, It is shown that polarized gluons through the anomaly play a significarit role and consequently the sum of quark spins is nearly equal to i .
