This paper describes a formal technique for automated synthesis of multiprocessor systems for given applications. The application task is specified in terms of a graph, and the architecture synthesized includes a set of processing elements and the interconnection architecture between them. The technique generates a task execution schedule along with the architecture. The technique involves creation of a Mixed Integer-Linear Programming (MILP) model and solution of the model.
