Case-based reasoning in design
1997
IEEE Expert
CASE-BASED REASONING IS A GEN- eral paradigm for problem solving based on the recall and reuse of specific experiences. AI practitioners have applied and extended this paradigm for numerous classes of design problems, indicating that it is an important aspect of design support. This survey considers the range and types of design applications that have implemented case-based reasoning and shows how these applications have resolved theoretical issues through their implementations.
