In this paper we present the reactive extrusion process to extract the lipids from by-products of fish. The study focuses on the technical feasibility of using these purified lipids as an additive (between 5 and 40% dilution) in a diesel fuel for use in an engine.The parameters of extrusion process were optimised in order to extract the most percentage of oil and the results of lipids extraction were compared with other techniques like batch process.
