In this paper, radio signal propagation characteristics for ultra wideband (UWB) signal is discussed in a wireless body area network (WBAN) context. The studied system approach considers on-body communications, which, however, is affected also by the in-body parts. Multipath signal components could propagate both on-body and inbody. Depending on the sensor node installations and the tissue types and volumes in the vicinity of them, radio signals propagate in the environment differently. Thus,
