Buyback contracts are widespread in supply chain coordination under various situations and have drawn for many years the attention of the researchers. This paper gives an introduction to the buyback contracting literature by classifying these research literatures into three parts according to the structure of supply chain (a supply chain consists of one upstream supplier and one downstream retailer; a supply chain with multiple suppliers and one retailer; a supply chain with multiple suppliers
