Captopril in hypertensive emergencies

A 4-year-old girl is presented suffering from severe hypertension due to hemolytic-u~emic syndrome. Injection of reserpine and hydralazine was ineffective. Captopril, an oral angiotensin I-converting enzyme inhibitor, showed the dramatic hypotensive effect in our patient.
