The modern manufacturing shop floor contains a variety of different types of machining equipment, each supporting different proprietary interfaces and communication protocols. This diversity has made it extremely challenging for shop managers to monitor and maintain their machines. Fortunately, the emerging MTConnect standard makes it possible for a monitoring system to accurately and consistently collect data from any MTConnect compatible machine, regardless of its brand or origin.
