Color vision improvement of anomalous trichromats based on a wide-color-gamut display

Compared with normal color vision observers (NOs), anomalous trichromats (AT) have anomalous color vision responses owing to differences in cone sensitivity. The wide-color-gamut display provides a promising solution to this problem. Herein, we propose a color discrimination experiment based on a wide-colorgamut display. It is concluded that the wide-color-gamut display significantly improves the color perception ability of AT, while proper light source optimization significantly enhances the visualization of AT. The study findings show that this AT-based, color vision model, may open up opportunities for future visual perception and biomedical applications.
