The thesis investigates the illusory rotation of unexpected upside-down letters, a finding used in consciousness literature about the use and validity of the phenomenal/access consciousness distinction. The investigation includes several control variables in three subexperiments and concludes that the supposed illusory rotation could also be explained by a general tendency to report letters as upright.
