This research aims at defining the role of present science text books in achieving health awareness among primary school pupils, in the light of the necessity of developing their health awareness. This is due to its importance in decreasing or limiting diseases. Thus, the current research attempts to define the role of science curricula in Libya in developing health awareness through the following question: What is the role of the present science curricula in achieving health awareness among
more » ... dents of primary stage in Libya? The researcher used content analysis method for analyzing science curricula of the primary schools in Libya. The researcher found that the percentage of health concepts is (8.45%); (18.18%) in 4 th year, in 5 th year is (4.54%) and (3.70%) in the 6 th year. This percentage is really low that cannot achieve health awareness of primary schools' pupils in Libya. In the light of the analysis results, the researcher set a list of health awareness dimensions in science area of primary schools. For further assurance of pupils' familiarity with concepts that raise their health awareness, the researcher set health awareness scale. Then, the average scores of the pupils of the research group was calculated by the health awareness scale that was (34.10) representing (57.4%) of the scale's total degree (75). That is less than the required ratio (80%).
