Conditioning of Castor Oil to be Use as Lubricant

The refined castor oil was modified by means of some additives including Viscosity Index improver (VII), pour point depressant (PPD), Total Base Number (TBN). The additives are from Petrobash Company (SUDAN). The modified oil was compared with lubricants samples from another local company MIRR SUPER DEISEL (SAE 50) company. It was found that castor oil can be used as base oil and can be modified by some additives to match lubricants uses.
