This study compares different risk markers in 70 consecutive patients with acute myocardial infarction treated with primary PCI in our hospital from March 2000 to May 2001. The goal of the study was to compare the short term prognostic information (28 day mortality) of NT-pro-BNP with other markers. At predefined times ANP-, NT-proBNP-, BNP-, IL-6- and CRP-plasma-levels were measured during hospitalization and their short term prognostic value was compared with the APACHE-II-Score.
