Calc. for NH(CsHJCO.COz(NHJ: total N, 15.38%. Found: 15.36%. Ammonium Phenylpropio1ate.-Phenylpropiolic acid, which contains a triple bond, is the first acid of its type whose ammonium salt has been studied in this laboratory. There is no record of the salt having been made elsewhere. A little heat was developed during the saturation with ammonia, which is an unusual occurrence with ether solutions.
