In this paper the authors' own experience in the evaluation of informativeness of lipocalin (NGAL) determination in a single urine sample for diagnostic and prognostic significance of acute kidney injury (AKI) has been analyzed. The studies were performed in 19 patients at three hospitals in Kiev.
