A suspension of NaCN in CH3CN was treated with excess of C2F4. The resulting red solution was evaporated to dryness and a red amorphous solid remained. One part of this solid was dissolved in water and a solution of Ph4AsCl was added. During the work-up procedure two salts were isolated, yellow [Ph4As+][CF3C(O)C(CN)2-] 1a and red [Ph4As+][(NC)2CC(CN)C(F)NC(CN)2-] 2a. The products were characterized on the basis of field desorption mass spectroscopy for positive and negative ions, 1a was furtherdoi:10.1515/znb-1985-0706 fatcat:bayig52hhffjripjty2v2zomsq
