Measurement of tissue optical properties impacts both optical diagnostic and theraputic applications. Although existing photoacoustic imaging techniques provide optical absorption contrast, we present a photoacoustic technique that demonstrates sensitivity to the optical scattering coefficient of a turbid medium.
