more » ... le of the fellows and the elements that contribute to the choice for teaching are presented. It makes an analysis of their perceptions about the training process, built knowledge and practices, life experiences, challenges and prospects for going into and stay in the teaching profession. The data were analyzed under theoretical references from the field of training and teaching work, especially on the construction of teacher identity. The results confirm a positive assessment of PIBID, as pointed out in other recently published research. The results reveal some challenges to the current policies for the valuation of teacher, explaining the complexity of the processes pre-service education and teaching practice.
