Flocking of multi-agent system with dynamic topology by pinning control

The flocking of a multi-agent system with dynamic topology is investigated in this study. A switching control law is developed to achieve the flocking by adding the controls from some of type II uninformed agents to their closest informed agent including the non-linear relative velocity feedback. The multiple Lyapunov functions are then constructed and a stable analysis for the flocking is given based on the LaSalle invariance principle. It is proven that the energy is bounded at all time, and
more » ... symptotically converges to the state of minimum energy; the velocities of all the agents approach the velocity of the virtual leader asymptotically; no collision happens between the mobile agents. The effects of the number of informed agents and nonlinear relative velocity feedbacks on the flocking are also investigated. It is shown that fewer informed agents in comparison with existing methods can guarantee stable flocking, which is very significant in some practical applications for secure communication.

Effect of Impregnation with Maltodextrin and 1,3-Dimethylol-4,5-Dihydroxyethyleneurea on Poplar Wood

Modification of poplar (Populus adenopoda Maxim) wood by using maltodextrin (MA) combined with 1,3-dimethylol-4,5-dihydroxyethyleneurea (DM) resin was investigated in this study. The weight percent gain, dimensional stability, mechanical strength, and microscopic chemical change were determined before and after impregnation. Results indicated that the composite modifier was impregnated into the wood cell lumen, as verified by scanning electron microscopy and a change in weight percent gain.
more » ... -swelling efficiency was significantly improved compared with the untreated sample; however, the sample treated with MA obtained an anti-swelling efficiency that was slightly lower than that of the sample treated with sucrose. The flexural strength, flexural modulus, and compressive strength perpendicular to the grain increased with an increase in MA concentration, but the compressive modulus and impact strength were reduced. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy demonstrated that MA delayed the cross-linking of the DM resin cell wall, and X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the crystallinity of the cellulose crystalline region was reduced to a certain extent. In general, the poplar wood treated with combined MA and DM resin exhibited enhanced properties relative to those of the poplar wood treated with sucrose.

To solve the poor quality of Very high frequency (VHF) speech communication in the navigation field, a VHF speech enhancement model based on an improved transformer (VHFSE) is proposed in this paper. The long-term and short-term noise are the reasons for the poor quality of VHF voice communication. VHFSE can reduce these two aspects of noise. In order to strengthen the ability of the model to reduce short-term noise, we add CNN module to the transformer according to the ability of revolutionary neural networks (CNN) to extract local information. Meanwhile, to improve the real-time performance , this study employs the lightweight convolution module (Depthwise Separable Convolution) to efficiency of VHF speech communication. Experimental results show that the proposed model VHFSE obtains the highest PESQ and STOI values than other compared modules. Besides, we apply the self-built dataset in our proposed model. The spectrum diagram shows that our model has the best enhancement effect on navigation VHF speech.

Maize vivipary, precocious seed germination on the ear, affects yield and seed quality. The application of multi-omics approaches, such as transcriptomics or metabolomics, to classic vivipary mutants can potentially reveal the underlying mechanism. Seven maize vivipary mutants were selected for transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses. more » ... . Moreover, vivipary mutants exhibited a uniform expression pattern of genes related to abscisic acid (ABA) biosynthesis, gibberellin (GA) biosynthesis, and ABA core signaling. NCED4 (Zm00001d007876), which is involved in ABA biosynthesis, was markedly downregulated and GA3ox (Zm00001d039634) was upregulated in all vivipary mutants, indicating antagonism between these two phytohormones. The ABA core signaling components (PYL-ABI1-SnRK2-ABI3) were affected in most of the mutants, but the expression of these genes was not significantly different between the vp8 mutant and wild-type seeds. Metabolomics analysis integrated with co-expression network analysis identified unique metabolites, their corresponding pathways, and the gene networks affected by each individual mutation. Collectively, our multi-omics analyses characterized the transcriptional and metabolic landscape during vivipary, providing a valuable resource for improving seed quality.

Lactobacillus casei (L. casei) is well known for its probiotic property in human and animals. Lactoferricin (Lfcin) polypeptide can effectively modulate host immune responses and have antimicrobial activity in vivo and in vitro. The recombinant L. casei, ΔthyA L. casei-LFEC, is sensitive to chloramphenicol and limited when cultured without thymine. Meanwhile, ΔthyA L. casei-LFEC has both good antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus and antiviral activity against porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV). Conclusions: We successfully constructed a recombinant L. casei strain expressing Lfcin, ΔthyA L. casei-LFEC, which could only survive in the presence of thymine, and had excellent antimicrobial and antiviral activity with good genetic stability and sensitivity. This research provides a cost-effective alternative to the antibiotics with additional biological functions and wider applicability prospect. Using ΔthyA as the selectable mark instead of antibiotic to construct genetic engineering L.casei provides a safe and effective approach of feed additives in livestock raising.

Application Effect and Nursing of Non-Invasive Ventilation in Acute Exacerbation of Chronic Obstruction Pulmonary Disease Patients

<p><strong>Objective:</strong> To study the application methods, summarize the nursing experience and discuss the clinical effect of non-invasive ventilation in acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). <strong>Methods:</strong> 152 cases of AECOPD patients, who received treatment in our hospital from January 2011 to December 2013, were selected and divided into the experimental group and control group randomly. Patients in control group received conventional
more » ... whereas besides conventional treatment, experimental group received non-invasive positive pressure ventilation and relevant nursing management. The changes in arterial blood gas and clinical indicators before and after treatment for both groups were observed. <strong>Results:</strong> After 7 days treatment, all the results of blood gas analysis were significantly improved (p &lt; 0.05). For the respiratory status (based on Borg scale), two groups were significantly improved after treatment, however, experimental group shown better than control group (p &lt; 0.05). The two groups had statistically significant difference (p &lt; 0.05) in the aspects of prognosis, endotracheal intubation and hospitalization time. As for the death index, there was no significant difference between two groups. No special treatment was needed for adverse reactions, they would be relieved slowly. <strong>Conclusion:</strong> Non-invasive positive pressure ventilation able to improve the recovery rate and quality of life of patients with acute exacerbation of COPD.</p>
