Artemisia extract was administered 1 h prior to the injection of compound 48/80. Artemisia was extracted from dried flowering tips of A. deserti using 80% ethanol. Subsequently, the systemic anaphylactic shock, histamine release, scratching behavior and vascular permeability induced by compound 48/80 were evaluated. The administration of Artemisia extract at 200 and 400 mg/kg doses suppressed the systemic anaphylactic shock induced by compound 48/80 in a dose-dependent manner. Overall, the Artemisia extract was able to effectively decrease systemic anaphylactic shock, histamine release, scratching behavior and vascular permeability induced by compound 48/80 in a dose-dependent manner.

We exploit natural-language processing techniques to analyze various aspects of 2,251 digital currencies to date, such as white paper content, founding teams, Github repositories, websites, etc. Supervised learning models are used to correlate the life span and the price change of cryptocurrencies with these features. For the best setting, the proposed system is able to identify scam ICO projects with 0.83 precision. We hope this work will help investors identify scam ICOs and attract more efforts in automatically evaluating and analyzing ICO projects.
In this paper, we propose a new Newton-type method for solving the nonlinear complementarity problem (NCP) based on a class of one-parametric NCP-functions, where an approximate Newton direction can be obtained by solving a modified Newton equation in each iteration. The method is shown to be globally convergent without any additional assumption. While the low-level integrated features are capable of capturing more saliency details, the high-level integrated features can reduce non-salient regions in the intermediate prediction. Furthermore, the RRBs can obtain complementary saliency information of the intermediate prediction, and add the residual into the intermediate prediction to refine the saliency maps. We evaluate the proposed R^3Net on five widely-used saliency detection benchmarks by comparing it with 16 state-of-the-art saliency detectors. Experimental results show that our network outperforms our competitors in all the benchmark datasets.

more »... revious reports. Structurally, compounds 1 and 2 belonged to the polyketide family and were from different origins. Compound 2 was constructed by five continuous quaternary carbon atoms, which occur rarely in natural products. All of the isolates were evaluated for anti-inflammatory activity against the production of nitric oxide (NO) in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced RAW264.7 cells. Among those, compounds 1 and 5 showed a significant inhibitory effect on NO production with IC50 values of 1.49 ± 0.31 and 3.41 ± 0.85 μM, respectively. Additionally, compounds 1 and 5 markedly increased the secretion of anti-inflammatory cytokine IL10 while suppressing the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines IL6, TNF-α, IFN-γ, MCP-1, and IL12. Besides, 1 and 5 inhibited the transcription level of pro-inflammatory macrophage markers IL6, IL1β, and TNF-α while remarkably elevating the anti-inflammatory factor IL10 and M2 macrophage markers ARG1 and CD206. Moreover, 1 and 5 restrained the expression and nuclear translocation of NF-κB, as well as its downstream signaling proteins COX-2 and iNOS. All these results suggest that 1 and 5 have potential as anti-inflammatory agents, with better or comparable activities than those of the positive control, dexamethasone.

Public attention to different types of information changes over time, but curbing rumors has always been a priority. Media richness features partially influent citizen engagement. Text length is significantly positively associated with citizen engagement through government social media. However, posts containing information sources have a negative impact on citizen engagement.

more »... s. However, the concomitant effect of ATRA and BMP9 in OS cells is unclear; therefore, in the present study, we focused on this topic. The results showed that BMP9 significantly promoted the proliferation of human OS 143B cells and did not induce osteogenic differentiation of cells in vitro (p<0.01). ATRA inhibited proliferation and induced osteogenesis in 143B cells; these effects could be enhanced by BMP9 overexpression (p<0.05). ATRA could significantly increase the level of phosphorylated p38 MAPK (p-p38) in 143B cells, while BMP9 did not have any significant effect. Notably, BMP9 overexpression enhanced the ability of ATRA to increase the levels of p-p38. Both the osteogenic differentiation and the anti-proliferative activity of BMP9 in the presence of ATRA decreased upon treatment with a specific inhibitor of p38 MAPK (SB203580) (p<0.01). This study indicates that the osteogenic differentiation ability of BMP9 in 143B cells can be restored by ATRA, and the combination of BMP9 and ATRA generated a stronger anti-proliferative effect on 143B cells than ATRA alone. This result may be due to the activation of the p38 MAPK pathway.
