Synthesis, Characterization, Photocatalytic and Antimicrobial Activities of Copper Doped Silver and Nickel Oxide Nanoparticles
2021
LGU journal of life sciences
ABSTRACT: The copper-doped silver and nickel oxide nanoparticles were prepared by the co-precipitation method in which the silver oxide (Ag2O) and nickel oxide (NiO) nanoparticles are doped with copper in 4:1 in the presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), a surfactant. Then various analytical studies were carried out by using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS). The XRD analysis revealed the crystalline structure and the size of nanoparticles was determined by

... ing Scherrer's formula. The XRD data showed the effect of doping on crystallinity and size. It was found that the size of nanoparticles was reduced without any change in crystallinity after doping. DRS results showed that when silver oxide and nickel oxide nanoparticles were doped with copper oxide nanoparticles, the energy band gap was shifted to a lesser value, i.e., from 1.50 to 1.17 eV for Ag2O and from 2.29 to 2.08 eV for NiO, respectively. The photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue (MB) and eriochrome black-T (EBT) by nanoparticles was monitored by UV-Vis spectroscopy. The antimicrobial activity of the synthesized nanoparticles was checked by using well diffusion assay and it was found that doped nanoparticles were more active than the undoped ones.

2022
Pharmaceuticals
Macrocyclic lactones, particularly the avermectins, have completely revolutionized the approaches aimed at control of parasites. These avermectins are the most widely used anti-parasitic drugs in veterinary field with sales exceeding one billion US dollars annually. However, before clinical usage, their safety evaluation in the animals is a major critical factor that must be considered. Many studies have reported the negative effects of avermectins like ivermectin, abamectin, doramectin, and

... inomectin on the host animals. These harmful effects arise from avermectins targeting GABA and glutamate-gated chloride channels present both in the parasites and the host animals. In this review, various modes of avermectins action along with the negative effects on the host like nephrotoxicity, hepatotoxicity, neurotoxicity, reproductive toxicity, and endocrine disruption were discussed in detail. Furthermore, other important issues like ecotoxicity, drug resistance, and drug residues in milk associated with avermectins usage were also discussed, which need special attention.

... of ecological environment quality in the coastal zone of South China during 1987─2020 based on the remote sensing ecological index (RSEI). The results show that 1) the correlation between the RSEI calculated using Landsat data and the parameters is more than 75%, and the results were significant when applied to assess the ecological environment of the coastal zone in South China. 2) The ecological quality of the coastal zone in South China as a whole showed a slight initial degradation during 1987─2020, followed by a gradual improvement trend and then a slight degradation; the area with good ecological quality decreased from 38.96 to 7.97%, and then gradually recovered to 56.61% in 2010. Subsequently, the regions with good ecological quality showed a significant decline, reducing to 1.72%, and then increasing to 38.46% until 2020. In addition, regional differences persisting during the study period are caused by the impact of human activities on the land use types of different landscapes. 3) Good and moderate ecological quality classes occupy most of the coastal zones in South China, but the pressure on the coastal zone is still not optimistic due to the sensitivity of the coastal zone and the accelerated urbanization in South China. As a large-scale, long time series of coastal zone ecological monitoring, this study can provide support for planning, ecological monitoring, environmental protection policy formulation, and integrated regional management of coastal zones and similar areas in South China.

Graphical Business Process Modelling Languages (BPML) like Role Activity Diagrams (RAD) provide ease and flexibility for modelling business behaviour. However, these languages show limited applicability in terms of enactment over distributed systems paradigms like Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) based grid computing. This paper investigates RAD modelling of a Scientific Publishing Process (SPP) for Digital Libraries (DL) and tries to determine the suitability of Pi-Calculus based formal

... nic cheilitis and erosive lichen planus, but histopathological evaluation showed unexpected results of suprabasal acantholysis and cleft compatible with pemphigus vulgaris. We treated her with intralesional triamcinolone 10 mg/mL for 2 sessions and 2 g cellcept daily. Patient showed excellent response and lesions resolved completely within 2 months. In one-year follow-up, there was no evidence of relapse or any additional lesion on the other sites.Conclusion. Cheilitis may be the initial and sole manifestation of pemphigus vulgaris. Localized and solitary lesions of pemphigus vulgaris can be treated and controlled without systemic corticosteroids.
Approximation by Generalized Lupaş Operators Based on q-Integers
2020
Mathematics
The purpose of this paper is to introduce q-analogues of generalized Lupaş operators, whose construction depends on a continuously differentiable, increasing, and unbounded function ρ . Depending on the selection of q, these operators provide more flexibility in approximation and the convergence is at least as fast as the generalized Lupaş operators, while retaining their approximation properties. For these operators, we give weighted approximations, Voronovskaja-type theorems, and quantitative estimates for the local approximation.
