This paper focuses on sentiment mining and sentiment correlation analysis of web events. Although neural network models have contributed a lot to mining text information, little attention is paid to analysis of the inter-sentiment correlations. This paper fills the gap between sentiment calculation and inter-sentiment correlations. In this paper, the social emotion is divided into six categories: love, joy, anger, sadness, fear, and surprise. more »... iment calculation. Three datasets - the titles, the bodies, the comments of news articles - are collected, covering both objective and subjective texts in varying lengths (long and short). From each dataset, three kinds of features are extracted: explicit expression, implicit expression, and alphabet characters. The performance of the two models are analyzed, with respect to each of the three kinds of the features. There is controversial phenomenon on the interpretation of anger (fn) and love (gd). In subjective text, other emotions are easily to be considered as anger. By contrast, in objective news bodies and titles, it is easy to regard text as caused love (gd). It means, journalist may want to arouse emotion love by writing news, but cause anger after the news is published. This result reflects the sentiment complexity and unpredictability.

In recent years, there has been increasing interest in transparency in Deep Neural Networks. Most of the works on transparency have been done for image classification. In this paper, we report on work in transparency in Deep Reinforcement Learning Networks (DRLNs). Such networks have been extremely successful in learning action control in Atari games. more »... generation of verbal explanations would allow better understanding by people (e.g., users, debuggers) of the inner workings of DRLNs which could ultimately increase trust in these systems. We present a generation model which consists of three parts: an encoder on feature extraction, an attention structure on selecting features from the output of the encoder, and a decoder on generating the explanation in natural language. Four variants of the attention structurefull attention, global attention, adaptive attention and object attention -are designed and compared. The adaptive attention structure performs the best among all the variants, even though the object attention structure is given additional information on object locations. Additionally, our experiment results showed that the proposed encoder outperforms two baseline encoders (Resnet and VGG) on the capability of distinguishing the game state images. more »... a diamond sensor for temperature measurement with high precision was fabricated based on the investigation of the energy level shifts of NV centers by Raman and photoluminescence (PL) spectra. The results show that the intensity and linewidth of the zero-phonon line of NV centers highly depend on the environmental temperature, and the energy level shifts of NV centers in diamond follow the modified Varshni model very well, a model which is better than the traditional version. Accordingly, the NV color center shows the ability in temperature measurement with a high accuracy of up to 98%. The high dependence of NV centers on environmental temperature shows the possibility of temperature monitoring of NV center-based quantum sensors in biosystems.
The ERA (E. coli RAS-like protein)-related GTPase (ERG) is a nuclear-encoded GTPase with two conserved domains: a GTPase domain and a K Homology domain. ERG plays a vital role in early seed development in Antirrhinum majus. However, the mechanism that regulates seed development remains unclear. Blasting the genome sequence revealed two homologies of ERG, AtERG1, and AtERG2 in Arabidopsis. more »... er and transcript analyses indicated that AtERG2 was mainly expressed in the leaf vein, trichome, mature pollen, and ovule. The mutants of AtERG2 showed recessive lethal, gametophytic maternal effects, silique shortage, and early seed abortion, in which some seeds arrested in the zygotic stage at 1.5 days after pollination (DAP) and aborted at 2.0 DAP in aterg2-1 +/-. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulated at 1.5 DAP in the arrested seeds, and the transcription of several ROS-responsible genes, WRKY40, ANAC017, and AOX1a, was up-regulated in the aterg2-1 +/-seeds which were arrested 1.5 and 2.0 DAP but not in wild-type (WT) and aterg2-1 +/-seeds. The cell death-related gene BAG6 was also transcriptionally activated in aterg2-1 +/-seeds arrested at 2.0 DAP. Chloramphenicol treatment during pollination induced a similar phenotype and gene expression pattern but showed no transcriptional changes of ANAC017 in WT. These results suggested that AtERG2 promotes early seed development by affecting the maturation of the mitochondria ribosome small subunit and mitochondrial protein translation in Arabidopsis.
