Šalies konkurencingumas: sampratos raida laiko perspektyvoje
2010
Business: Theory and Practice
Santrauka.

Susidomėjimas, kas vienas šalis daro konkurencingesnėmis už kitas, kilo jau XVI a. Straipsnyje, prieš tai atskleidus staigaus susidomėjimo šalies konkurencingumu augimo priežastis, atliekama išsami istorinės jos raidos analizė bei identifikuojami svarbiausi aspektai, šalies konkurencingumą apibūdinantys šiandien. Reikšminiai žodžiai: šalies konkurencingumas, šalies konkurencingumo samprata, šalies konkurencingumą apibūdinantys aspektai. Abstract. The national competitiveness today is not just an object of large amounts of scientific works but also a popular concept among business leaders, economists and politics. However, wide usage of the concept is not always based on the clearly defined contents of the word. Different meanings of the national competitiveness concept cause a lot of misunderstandings and this is just deepening discussions and requirements to find one definition, clear for everyone. According to this necessity it is important to analyse evolution tendencies of the national competitiveness content because it is not a new phenomenon. The interest why some countries are more competitive than others arose already in XVI century. The article discusses the reasons of growing interest in national competitiveness, reviews historical evolution of the national competitiveness concept and identifies the most important aspects explaining national competitiveness today.
Investicinių projektų efektyvumo daugiakriterinis vertinimas
2006
Business: Theory and Practice
Santrauka. Investicinių projektų efektyvumą nusako daugelis ekonominių, finansinių, socialinių, technologinių, ekologinių, aplinkosauginių ir kitų rodiklių. Pagal vienus iš šių rodiklių alternatyvus investicinis projektas tinkamas įgyvendinti, o pagal kitus -netinkamas. Todėl vertinant investicinius projektus (pvz., projektus, finansuojamus ES struktūrinių fondų) sunku išrinkti efektyviausius projektus, kurių įgyvendinimas atneštų didžiausią naudą tiek jį įgyvendinančiam ūkio subjektui, tiek

Abstract. A large number of economic, financial, social, technological, ecological -environmental and other indicators define the effectiveness of the investment projects. According to some of the indicators, the alternative investment project is suitable for putting it into practice, according to others, it is not. Therefore, while evaluating the investment projects (e.g. the projects which are financed by EU structural funds) it becomes difficult to choose the most effective projects whose realization would bring the most significant benefit to the economy subject and to our country. It is possible to get objective answers about the effectiveness of the alternative investment projects by evaluating them according to multicriterial methods. With the help of such methods it is possible to evaluate the investment projects comprehensively by presenting one generalized indicator. It shows the effectiveness of the alternative project fairly objectively. The multicriterial evaluation method analyzed in the article gave the possibility to evaluate the effectiveness of the projects chosen, and to set the priority level of these projects. From the analysis carried out, it is obvious that three investment projects are suitable for being financed and put into practice, and the remaining ones have to be rejected or corrected. The method for evaluating the effectiveness of the investment projects proposed by the authors has both theoretical and practical advantages (the extensive analysis can be carried out, the different classification of the evaluation criteria is possi-

... he work is to study state regulation of relations in the field of bankruptcy in the economy of Ukraine. Results. The factors, internal and external, preceding the bankruptcy of economic entities. Thus, the external preconditions of bankruptcy are international, economic, political, demographic and others. Internal prerequisites include economic, technical, technological, social and others. The characteristic and gradation criteria of business entities in accordance with legislative acts of Ukraine are presented. It was revealed that the proportion of sales of micro-enterprises is unequal to their share in the total number of enterprises, indicating their negligible contribution to the development of the national economy. According to the results of empirical studies, it was found that during the analyzed period the share of unprofitable enterprises of different sizes is at least a 25%. Such a large number entails not only low financial stability, insolvency and efficiency of business entities themselves, but also inhibits the process of economic growth of the whole country. The application of the method of multivariate discriminant analysis will allow us to draw a conclusion about the financial condition with assigning it a class in accordance with the values of the integral indicator and taking into account the probability of non-fulfillment of obligations, that is, to identify the presence of an unprofitable enterprise and the likelihood of bankruptcy. Conclusions. So, an analysis of the criteria for graduation of business entities made it possible to establish the difference between the administrative and accounting interpretation of the criteria for the attitude of enterprises to various sizes. The dynamics of structural statistics indicators of domestic business entities were monitored, suggesting that individual entrepreneurs make an insignificant contribution to the development of the national economy. Since a quarter of business entities still remain unprofitable, it is necessary to take preventive measures to prevent the loss of solvency by enterprises, one of which is to identify the existence of an unprofitable enterprise and the likelihood of bankruptcy.

... side the office, places for creative relaxation at work. Anything that helps the creative workflow because IT professionals, are creators in the field who work and need special conditions to grow their potential and deliver good results. The article explores and analyzes the motivation factors leading to the employees' commitment of the IT companies in Bulgaria. Basic theoretical points of view are presented and the work of leading researchers in this field is being commented. A methodology has been developed and the summarized results are presented, on the two hypotheses that the authors set, namely: There is a link between Employee Compensation, working conditions, personal development opportunities and the psychological climate, and employee engagement and that Employee Compensation has exhausted the possibilities to be the only factor to guarantee the commitment of the employees in the IT industry. The results show that companies can not ignore any of the identified key motivational factors without losing employees and/or productivity/efficiency.
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT: THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY INDICATORS' SELECTION MODEL
2016
Journal of Security and Sustainability Issues
Circular economy conception is a result of development of sustainability. Since 1987, when the World Commission on Environment and Development (WCED) has developed and published the document "Our Common Future", numerous institutions monitor sustainable development (SD) at global, national or regional level. Recently The European Commission adopted a Circular Economy Package, which consists of an EU Action Plan for the Circular Economy that establishes a concrete programme of action, with
