Black Holes That Repel
[article]

The recent observation that black holes in certain Einstein-Maxwell-Dilaton (EMD) theories can violate the entropy super-additivity led to the suggestion that these black holes might repel each other. In this paper, we consider EMD theories with two Maxwell fields A_i, with general exponential couplings (a_i ϕ) in their kinetic terms. We calculate the gravi-electrostatic force between charged black holes (m_1,e_1) and (M_2,Q_2); the former is sufficiently small and can be treated as a

... object. We find there is a potential barrier caused by the dilaton coupling at r_0 outside the back hole horizon r_+, provided that -a_1 a_2> 2(D-3)/(D-2). As the black hole approaches extremality, both r_+ and r_0 vanish, the barrier becomes infinitesimally thin but infinitely high, and the two black holes repel each other in the whole space. There is no electrostatic force between them; the dilaton is the antigravity agent. Furthermore we find that the exact constraint on a_1 a_2 can be derived from the requirements that two-charged extremal black holes have a fusion bomb like mass formula and the violation of entropy super-additivity can occur. The two very different approaches give a consistent picture of the black hole repulsion.

MRI manifestations of hepatic perfusion disorders
2018
Experimental and Therapeutic Medicine
The present study aimed to analyze the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) results from patients with hepatic perfusion disorders (HPD) and liver diseases, in order to assess the pathogenetic mechanisms. This was completed byanalyzing the causes of HPD in 35 patients to assess if they were associated with arterioportal shunt, and classify the patients according to results from the MRI scans. Of the 35 patients, 26 (74.3%) with HPD presented with hepatocellular carcinoma, a major cause of HPD. The

... PD phenomenon in 35 patients was not identified as obvious abnormal lesions on T2WI and T1WI according to the isointensity on diffusion weighted images. Enhanced scanning showed hyperintense signals on the arterial phase images, isointense or hyperintense signals on portal phase and delayed phase images. According to their MRI findings, hepatic perfusion disorders may be divided into different types, as follows: Diffuse, lobe or segment type, wedge type and platy. The HPD phenomenon may herald an underlying abnormality of liver disease and MRI may accurately diagnose HPDs in liver diseases.
Molecular docking, 3D-QSAR and structural optimization on imidazo-pyridine derivatives dually targeting AT1 and PPARγ

Telmisartan, a bifunctional agent of blood pressure lowering and glycemia reduction, was previously reported to antagonize angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptor and partially activate peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ) simultaneously. Through the modification to telmisartan, researchers designed and obtained imidazo-\pyridine derivatives with the IC 50 s of 0.49~94.1 nM against AT1 and EC 50 s of 20~3640 nM towards PPARγ partial activation. For minutely inquiring the

... modes with the relevant receptor and analyzing the structure-activity relationships, molecular docking and 3D-QSAR (Quantitative structure-activity relationships) analysis of these imidazo-\pyridines on dual targets were conducted in this work. Docking approaches of these derivatives with both receptors provided explicit interaction behaviors and excellent matching degree with the binding pockets. The best CoMFA (Comparative Molecular Field Analysis) models exhibited predictive results of q 2 =0.553, r 2 =0.954, SEE=0.127, r 2 pred =0.779 for AT1 and q 2 =0.503, r 2 =1.00, SEE=0.019, r 2 pred =0.604 for PPARγ, respectively. The contour maps from the optimal model showed detailed information of structural features (steric and electrostatic fields) towards the biological activity. Combining the bioisosterism with the valuable information from above studies, we designed six molecules with better predicted activities towards AT1 and PPARγ partial activation. Overall, these results could be useful for designing potential dual AT1 antagonists and partial PPARγ agonists.
A New Design of Three-Legged Robot of Mechanical and Control System
2013
Applied Mechanics and Materials
A new type of three-legged robot design scheme is proposed and the movement control of it is studied in this paper. Spatial crank rocker mechanism (RSSR) is used to will the motor rotation into a leg swinging in mechanical design. Advanced reduced instruction-set computer machines (ARM) chip, wireless communication module and magnetic encoder are used in controller design. Proportional and differential (PD) closed loop control arithmetic is used to realize the control of the robot. The robot

The differential distribution of bacteria between cancerous and noncancerous ovarian tissues in situ
2020
Journal of Ovarian Research
With the improvement of bacterial detection, the theory of the sterile female upper reproductive tract has been frequently challenged in recent years. However, thus far, no researchers have used ovaries as study targets. Six women who were diagnosed with ovarian cancer were included in the cancer group, and ten women who were diagnosed with a noncancerous ovarian condition (including three patients with uterine myoma and seven patients with uterine adenomyosis) were included in the control

... . Immunohistochemistry staining using an antibacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) antibody was used to confirm the presence of bacteria in the ovarian tissues. In addition, 16S rRNA sequencing was used to compare the differences in the bacteria between ovarian cancer tissues and noncancerous ovarian tissues. BugBase and Phylogenetic Investigation of Communities by Reconstruction of Unobserved States (PICRUSt) were used to predict the functional composition of the bacteria. Bacterial LPS was present in ovarian cancer tissue and noncancerous ovarian tissue, which implied the presence of bacteria in ovarian tissue. When compared to the noncancerous ovarian bacteria at the phylum level, the cancerous ovarian bacteria were composed of increased Aquificae and Planctomycetes and decreased Crenarchaeota. When predicting metagenomes, gene functions associated with the potentially pathogenic and the oxidative stress-tolerant phenotype were enriched in the ovaries of the cancer group. Forty-six significantly different KEGG pathways existed in the ovarian bacteria of the cancer group compared to that of the control group. Different bacteria compositions were present in cancerous and noncancerous ovarian tissues. Chines Clinical Trail Registry, CHiCTR1800020018, Registered 11 September 2018, http://www.chictr.org.cn/.

Hearts injury was assessed in isolated hearts and the rats of coronary artery ligated. Results and Conclusions: The inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokines was observed by curcumin in coronary artery ligated rats. ST segment was also reduced by curcumin. Besides, the results in vitro also demonstrated that curcumin could improved the function of isolated hearts. Besides, the expressions of inflammation-related pathway in both rats and isolated hearts treated with curcumin were significantly decreased.
