Investigating Quality of Institutional Repository Website Design Using Usability Testing Framework [article]

Quality of website design is one of the influential factors of website success. How the design helps the users using effectively and efficiently website and satisfied at the end of the use. However, it is a common tendency that websites are designed based on the developer's perspectives and lack considering user importance. more » ... (IR) website in a public university in Indonesia. The research was performed based on usability testing framework as the usability testing method. About 12 participants were purposely involved concerning their key informant characteristics. Following three empirical data collection techniques (i.e., query technique, formal experiment, and thinking aloud), both descriptive analysis using usability scale matric and content analysis using qualitative data analysis (QDA) Miner Lite software were used in the data analysis stage. Lastly, several visual design recommendations were then proposed at the end of the study. In terms of a case study, besides the practical recommendations which may contextually useful for the next website development; the clarity of the research design may also help scholars how to combine more than one usability testing technique within a multi-technique study design.

Oleh karena itu, DMS mencoba mendukung proses bisnis GUP ini dengan menyediakan media koordinasi antar unit dalam mengelola berkas maupun dokumen elektronik secara online untuk meminimalisir kecelakaan ataupun hilangnya berkas. Metode pengembangan sistem yang digunakan adalah Scrum dengan Unified Modeling Language (UML) sebagai tools perancangan sistem. Sistem dibangun menggunakan PHP dan MySQL. Mengacu dari hasil wawancara kepada Bapak Ady Cahyadi selaku Sekretaris SPI dan Bapak Rezky Mehta Setiadi sebagai Koor Divisi Kepatuhan dan Keuangan SPI, output berupa Revolving Fund Document Management System berbasis web ini mendukung pengelolaan dokumen, pengecekan proses dokumen dan koordinasi secara online pada proses GUP tingkat fakultas di UIN Jakarta.

PT Persada Duta Beliton was established in 1989 in Tanjung Pandan city. The company made the first attempt to sell the airline ticket business, sailing vessel and hotel voucher. The services available at the company are currently less personally focused on customers. This resulted in the company not getting a more optimal value and less on target. more » ... ampaign that directly targeted to its customers and the absence of information storage media in the form of reviews from customers who have booked a tour package to assess the company's performance in order to improve the service is expected also able to provide more services in facilitating customers in interacting with company. The purpose of this research is to design an i-CRM information system at PT Persada Duta Beliton based website that can be used to maintain the company's relationship with the customer. The results to be achieved so that the system can have the function of booking tour packages, chat feature for customers to interact directly to the company in the system, the tour package reviews from customers and the existence of direct promotional media leads to customers as well as personalization to customers such as anniversary remarks include special discounts to customers. Model for system development is Rapid Application System (RAD). In system design is done by using tools Unified Model Language (UML). ABSTRAK PT Persada Duta Beliton berdiri pada tahun 1989 di kota Tanjung Pandan. Perusahaan melakukan usaha pertama yaitu menjual bisnis tiket pesawat, kapal layar dan voucher hotel. Layanan yang tersedia di perusahaan saat ini kurang berfokus kepada pelanggan secara personal. Hal tersebut mengakibatkan perusahaan tidak mendapatkan nilai yang lebih optimal dan kurang tepat sasaran. Oleh sebab itu diperlukan suatu strategi bisnis mengoptimalkan pemasaran, penjualan dan pelayanan. Berdasarkan penelitian, perusahaan saat ini belum memiliki media promosi yang langsung menyasar kepada para pelanggannya dan belum adanya media penyimpanan informasi berupa ulasan dari pelanggan yang sudah memesan paket wisata untuk menilai kinerja perusahaan guna peningkatan pelayanan diharapkan juga mampu memberikan pelayanan lebih dalam memudahkan pelanggan dalam berinteraksi dengan perusahaan. Tujuan penelitian yaitu merancang sistem informasi i-CRM pada PT Persada Duta Beliton berbasis website yang dapat digunakan untuk menjaga hubungan perusahaan dengan pelanggan. Hasil yang ingin dicapai agar sistem dapat memiliki fungsi pemesanan paket wisata, fitur chat untuk pelangan berinteraksi langsung kepada perusahaan dalam sistem, fitur ulasan paket wisata dari pelanggan dan adanya media promosi yang langsung mengarah kepada pelanggan serta personalisasi kepada pelanggan seperti ucapan anniversary mencakup spesial potongan harga kepada pelanggan. Model untuk pengembangan sistem yaitu Rapid Application System (RAD). Pada perancangan sistem dilakukan dengan menggunakan tools Unified Model Language (UML).
