VANETs (Vehicular Ad hoc Networks) are highly mobile wireless ad hoc networks and will play an important role in public safety communications and commercial applications. Routing of data in VANETs is a challenging task due to rapidly changing topology and high speed mobility of vehicles. Conventional routing protocols in MANETs (Mobile Ad hoc Networks) are unable to fully address the unique characteristics in vehicular networks. In this paper, we propose EBGR (Edge Node Based Greedy Routing), a
more &raquo; ... reliable greedy position based routing approach to forward packets to the node present in the edge of the transmission range of source/forwarding node as most suitable next hop, with consideration of nodes moving in the direction of the destination. We propose Revival Mobility model (RMM) to evaluate the performance of our routing technique. This paper presents a detailed description of our approach and simulation results show that packet delivery ratio is improved considerably compared to other routing techniques of VANET.

An enantioselective total synthesis of (+)-amphirionin-4 has been accomplished in a convergent manner. The synthesis features an efficient enzymatic lipase resolution to access the tetrahydrofuranol core in optically-active form. The functionalized tetrahydrofuran derivative was synthesized via an oxocarbenium ion-mediated highly diastereoselective syn-allylation reaction. Assessment Of Factors Influencing Infiltration Capacity Of Soil

The infiltration process is an important factor in the hydrological cycle, the phenomena deserves special attention in watershed management plan. The present study has been carried out to investigate the impact of soil surface characteristics and slope angle on infiltration rate. The factors influencing infiltration rate was studied using rainfall simulator for an experimental plot of 1980 sq.cm., the duration of rainfall has been selected as 5, 10 and 15 minutes respectively for the entire
more &raquo; ... ysis. The infiltration was calculated from the values obtained from calibration run and test run. Infiltration capacity decreased in compacted soil and vegetative cover when compared to the loosely filled soil. Slope angle ranged from 50 to 150 was used to study the effect of infiltration capacity. Infiltration rate decreases with increase in slope angle. Further, it was observed that if intensity of rainfall is high surface runoff depth increases and infiltration rate decreases. Results strongly suggests that, for soil characteristics and slope angles as used here, adequate watershed protections may be developed in order to recharge the groundwater.

Computation of Clinical Efficacy and Post- Thrombolytic Effects of Streptokinase in ST-Segment Elevated Myocardial Infarction Patients

Rationale: Atherosclerosis is a prominent underlying factor to Diabetes and Hypertension seen in 80% of patients leading to increased formation of thrombus thus blocking blood supply to myocardium. Fibrinolytics, such as streptokinase in the dose of 1,500,000 U in slow IV infusion has good activity for reperfusion. The study is aimed to evaluate the clinical efficacy and post-thrombolytic effects of streptokinase in STEMI patients. Materials and Methods: A prospective observational study of 100
more &raquo; ... patients of both sexes with STEMI was included based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Demographic details of the patient, including ECG, Numerical Pain Rating Scale pain scale before and after fibrinolytic therapy were collected to record pain. Statistical significance was carried out with Students t-test, Chi-square test and SPSS software. Results: A marked change in ST segment elevation was observed with streptokinase therapy and decrease in coronary pain was measured when comparing before and after fibrinolytic therapy. At 90 min post thrombolytic therapy, 32 patients had pain relief (complete + partial), 11 patients had ST segment settlement (complete + partial) and 0 patients has T wave inversion. At the end of 48 hr of post thrombolytic therapy > 75% had pain relief, ≥ 50% patients had ST segment settlement and ≤ 10% patients had T wave inversion which was the least marker of reperfusion. Conclusion: Significant activity of streptokinase was obtained when used within 12 hr of resolution period. Chest pain, ST segment variations were the prominent markers for testing the efficacy of therapy.
