2016 arXiv   pre-print
Wireless network virtualization and information-centric networking (ICN) are two promising technologies for next generation wireless networks. Although some excellent works have focused on these two technologies, device-to-device (D2D) communications have not beeen investigated in information-centric virtualized cellular networks. Meanwhile, content caching in mobile devices has attracted great attentions due to the saved backhaul consumption or reduced transmission latency in D2D-assisted
more » ... lar networks. However, when it comes to the multi-operator scenario, the direct content sharing between different operators via D2D communications is typically infeasible. In this article, we propose a novel information-centric virtualized cellular network framework with D2D communications, enabling not only content caching in the air, but also inter-operator content sharing between mobile devices. Moreover, we describe the key components in the proposed framework, and present the interactions among them. In addition, we incorporate and formulate the content caching strategies in resource allocation optimization, to maximize the total utility of mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) through caching popular contents in mobile devices. Simulations results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed framework and scheme with different system parameters.

In this paper, we study a certain deformation D of the Virasoro algebra that was introduced and called q-Virasoro algebra by Nigro,in the context of vertex algebras. Among the main results, we prove that for any complex number ℓ, the category of restricted D-modules of level ℓ is canonically isomorphic to the category of quasi modules for a certain vertex algebra of affine type. We also prove that the category of restricted D-modules of level ℓ is canonically isomorphic to the category of

Transmission Scheduling Algorithm in DTN

Wei Yu, Hongyan Li, Jiandong Li, Lin Jin, Kun Yuan
2013 Communications and Network
Delay Tolerant Networks (DTNs) is a dynamic topology network, in which connection durations of each link are variable and paths between two nodes are intermittent. Most of protocols which are widely used in traditional wireless network are not suitable for DTNs. DTN adopts store-and-forward mechanism to cope with the problem of intermittent path. With limited storage of each node, it is a challenge for scheduling nodes' transmission to avoid overflow of nodes' buffers. In this paper we propose
more » ... n optimal transmission scheduling algorithm for DTN with nodes' buffer constraints. The object of the optimal algorithm is to get maximum throughput. We also present an algorithm for obtaining suboptimal transmission schedules. Our solution is certified through simulation, and it is observed that our solution can improve network performance in the aspects of avoiding overflow and increasing network throughput.

Let g=e^2u(dx^2+dy^2) be a conformal metric defined on the unit disk of C. We give an estimate of ∇ u_L^2,∞(D_1/2) when K(g)_L^1 is small and μ(B_r^g(z),g)/π r^2<Λ for any r and z∈ D_3/4. Then we will use this estimate to study the Gromov-Hausdorff convergence of a conformal metric sequence with bounded K_L^1 and give some applications.

A new way of preparing W–Cu functional gradient materials (FGM) with molten salts electrodeposition is studied. The results show that, with the conditions of current density 70 mA·cm−2, electrodeposition temperature 700 °C and bidirectional pulse electrodepositing for 30 minutes (min), the Cu–Ni gradient layer prepared under this condition is widely used dense and smooth. Fundamental to the preparation of Cu–Ni functional gradient layer, Cu–Ni is used as a cathode to deposit W. Under the

The W–Cu gradient materials prepared in this study have good cohesiveness. The addition of Ni would promote the inter-diffusion of Cu and W, and increase the diffusion coefficient significantly.

Preparation and Research of a High-Performance ZnO/SnO2 Humidity Sensor

Fan Li, Peng Li, Hongyan Zhang
2021 Sensors
A high-performance zinc oxide/tin dioxide (ZnO/SnO2) humidity sensor was developed using a simple solvothermal method. The sensing mechanism of the ZnO/SnO2 humidity sensor was evaluated by analyzing its complex impedance spectra. The experimental results prove that the ZnO/SnO2 composite material has a larger specific surface area than pure SnO2, which allows the composite material surface to adsorb more water to enhance the response of the ZnO/SnO2 humidity sensor. ZnO can also contribute to
more » ... he generation of oxygen-rich vacancies on the ZnO/SnO2 composite material surface, allowing it to adsorb a large amount of water and rapidly decompose water molecules into conductive ions to increase the response and recovery speed of the ZnO/SnO2 humidity sensor. These characteristics allowed the Z/S-2 humidity sensor to achieve a higher response (1,225,361%), better linearity, smaller hysteresis (6.6%), faster response and recovery speeds (35 and 8 s, respectively), and long-term stability at 11–95% relative humidity. The successful preparation of the ZnO/SnO2 composite material also provides a new direction for the design of SnO2-based resistance sensors with high humidity-sensing performance.

Meteorological Drought Monitoring in Northeastern China Using Multiple Indices

Fengping Li, Hongyan Li, Wenxi Lu, Guangxin Zhang, Joo-Cheol Kim
2019 Water
Drought monitoring is one of the significant issues of water resources assessment. Multiple drought indices (DIs), including Percent of Normal (PN), Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI), statistical Z-Score, and Effective Drought Index (EDI) at 18 different timesteps were employed to evaluate the drought condition in Wuyuer River Basin (WRB), Northeast China. Daily precipitation data of 50 years (1960–2010) from three meteorological stations were used in this study. We found DIs with
more » ... ate time steps (7 to 18 months) to have the highest predictive values for identifying droughts. And DIs exhibited a better similarity in the 12-month timestep. Among all the DIs, EDI exhibited the best correlation with other DIs for various timesteps. When further comparing with historical droughts, Z-Score, SPI, and EDI were found more sensitive to multi-monthly cumulative precipitation changes (r2 > 0.55) with respect to monthly precipitation changes (r2 ≤ 0.10), while EDI was more preferable when only monthly precipitation data were available. These results indicated that various indices for different timesteps should be investigated in drought monitoring in WRB, especially the intermediate timesteps should be considered.

Bmp8a Is a Novel Player in Regulation of Antiviral Immunity [article]

2020 bioRxiv   pre-print
Bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) is a kind of classical multi-functional growth factor that plays a vital role in the formation and maintenance of bone, cartilage, muscle, blood vessels, and the regulation of energy balance. However, whether BMP plays a role in antiviral immunity is unknown. Here we demonstrate that Bmp8a is a newly-identified positive regulator for antiviral immune responses. The bmp8a-/- zebrafish, when infected with the viruses of GCRV, SVCV or TSVDV, show significantly
more » ... ed antiviral immunity, increased viral load and morbidity. We also show for the first time that Bmp8a interacts with Alk6a, which promotes the phosphorylation of Tbk1 and Irf3 through p38 MAPK pathway, and induces the production of type I IFNs in response to virus infection. Upon virus infection, bmp8a expression is activated through the binding of Stat1a/Stat1b to the GAS motifs in bmp8a promoter region, enlarging the antiviral innate immune signal. Our study uncovers a previously unrecognized role of Bmp8a in regulation of antiviral immune responses and provides a new target for controlling viral infection.
