Multiscale Entanglement Renormalization Ansatz for Kondo Problem
[article]
2012
arXiv
pre-print
We derive the multiscale entanglement renormalization ansatz (MERA) for the single impuity Kondo model. ...
As the latter starts to dominate the electronic state, the Kondo physics emerges. The present result is a simple and beautiful example of a holographic dual of a boundary conformal field theory. ...
Then, the Kondo temperature T K can be obtained from the MERA network itself without assuming the specific Kondo interaction. ...

Competing Kondo Effects in Non-Kramers Doublet Systems
2016
Journal of the Physical Society of Japan
In non-Kramers Kondo systems with a quadrupolar degrees of freedom, an ordinary magnetic Kondo effect can compete with the quadrupolar Kondo effect. ...
The quadrupolar Kondo effect can be described by the two-channel Kondo model, which leads to the local non-Fermi-liquid (NFL) ground state, while the magnetic Kondo effect favors the ordinary local Fermi-liquid ...

Single-particle spectrum of the Kondo lattice model is derived with use of the continuous-time quantum Monte Carlo method, combined with the dynamical mean-field theory. ...
In the mean-field theory, the collective Kondo effect appears as a phase transition, and it is difficult to reproduce the Kondo crossover at finite temperatures. ...
In particular, the width of the pseudogap is the order of the Kondo temperature T K $ 0:1. ...

Neuromuscular electrical stimulation is feasible in patients with acute heart failure
2019
ESC Heart Failure
In acute heart failure (AHF), immobilization is caused because of unstable haemodynamics and dyspnoea, leading to protein wasting. Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) has been reported to preserve muscle mass and improve functional outcomes in chronic disease. NMES may be effective against protein wasting frequently manifested in patients with AHF; however, whether NMES can be implemented safely without any adverse effect on haemodynamics has remained unknown. This study aimed to examine the feasibility of NMES in patients with AHF.

Ground-State Properties of Extended Two-Channel Kondo Model
1998
Journal of the Physical Society of Japan
Ground-state properties are examined for an extended two-channel Kondo model where the Hilbert space of the localized states is extended to include a singlet state in addition to the doublet states. ...
[1] [2] [3] This non-Fermi-liquid behavior can be initiated by several microscopic origins due to, for example, the two-channel quadrupolar Kondo effect, 4) a distribution of Kondo temperatures 5) ...
The α (3) term associated with the overscreening state becomes most dominant as expected in the conventional two-channel Kondo model. ...
