AbstractWe systematize the knowledge on data breaches into concise step-by-step breach workflows and use them to describe the breach methods. We present the most plausible workflows for 10 famous data breaches. We use information from a variety of sources to develop our breach workflows, however, we emphasize that for many data breaches, information about crucial steps was absent. We researched such steps to develop complete breach workflows; as such, our workflows provide descriptions of data
more &raquo; ... reaches that were previously unavailable. For generalizability, we present a general workflow of 50 data breaches from 2015. Based on our data breach analysis, we develop requirements that organizations need to meet to thwart data breaches. We describe what requirements are met by existing security technologies and propose future research directions to thwart data breaches.

Gallbladder gangrene is a grave complication of acute calculous cholecystitis that is difficult to detect preoperatively. Ultrasound could show a gallbladder wall that is more thickened. In addition, other clinical measures were reported to be possible predictive factors. Therefore, we aim in this study to evaluate the gallbladder wall thickness measured by ultrasound and other clinical measures as predictive factors for gangrene complication in acute calculous cholecystitis. A prospective
more &raquo; ... t database analysis of the results of 674 patients diagnosed and treated for acute calculous cholecystitis between January 2010 and December 2014 was done. Patient's inclusion criteria were acute calculous cholecystitis in adults who were operated within three days of onset of symptoms. 117 (17.4%) patients had gangrene. Gallbladder sonographic wall thickness 5.1-6 mm, more than 6 mm, male gender, diabetes mellitus, leukocytosis >15,000 cells/ml, and age ≥40 years were found to be factors predisposing to gangrene complicated acute calculous cholecystitis that represented a statistically significant difference (p≤0.01). We conclude that gallbladder sonographic wall thickness 5.1-6 mm, more than 6 mm, male gender, diabetes mellitus, leukocytosis >15,000 cells/ml, and age ≥40 years were found to be factors predisposing to gangrene complicated acute calculous cholecystitis that represented a statistically significant difference. By implementing these risk factors, patients urgency for surgery can be decided in the emergency department. Other risk factors such as high alanine aminotransferase, elevated aspartate aminotransferase, and high alkaline phosphatase could be of help in the decision for early operation.

PREVALENCE OF IRON DEFICIENCY ANEMIA AMONG PREGNANT WOMEN

Dr Ehtisham Saleem, Dr Muhammad Fareed Ahmed, Dr Hamza Akhtar, Dr Aman Ullah Tariq.
<span title="2020-04-24">2020</span> <i title="Zenodo"> Zenodo </i> &nbsp;
The major health problem mainly in the developed countries is anemia during the pregnancy which is linked with the many side effects. [1] World health organization (WHO) has set the limit to define the anemia if the hemoglobin (hb) level is less than 11 g/dl [2] WHO has stated that if the prevalence of anemia is 5.0% or higher it should be considered as significant problem. If in any population the prevalence of anemia is more than 40% it must be specified as major health problem. It was a
more &raquo; ... -sectional study containing 350 women age rages between 19-40 years. All healthy pregnant women with HB less than 11g/dl were recruited into the study. A detailed health data could be acquired such as parity, menstrual characteristics, infections, previous iron or blood transfusions, etc. The Government needs to take solid steps to improve the quality of education and socioeconomic status of females, increase the number of health care providers and intensify public education. Health behavior's need to be changed and adherence to the prescribed programs by the government is needed. Providing long term iron supplementation and dietary modification starting from adolescence may improve the hemoglobin levels and later on prevent anemia in pregnancy.

RISK OF ECTOPIC PREGNANCY IN PREVIOUS INDUCED ABORTION

Dr Hamza Akhtar, Dr Ehtisham Saleem, Dr Muhammad Fareed Ahmed, Dr Aman Ullah Tariq.
<span title="2020-04-24">2020</span> <i title="Zenodo"> Zenodo </i> &nbsp;
The incidences of ectopic pregnancies in the developed countries have been increased from three to four times throughout the past 20 years. Whereas in the current time the rate of ectopic pregnancies reported is 1.5%. Regardless of achieving advancement in the diagnosis and treatment of ectopic pregnancy it has been still the major cause of maternal death in their first trimester.2 Ectopic pregnancy has some serious consequences it leads to reduction in fertility and there is 20% chance of
more &raquo; ... rence with 20-40% chance of ultimate infertility. Cases included in the study were women with a diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy confirmed by laparoscopy or laparotomy, admitted to general hospitals. A total of 158 patients (median age 32 years, range 18-43) were enrolled into the study. The first control group (obstetric controls) included women who gave birth at term (more than 37 weeks gestation) to healthy infants at the same hospitals where the cases had been identified. The control subjects were chosen in randomly selected days within 1 month of case ascertainment. A total of 243 controls (median age 31 years, range 17-44) were interviewed during the study period and were included in this analysis. , this study shows an increased risk of ectopic pregnancy after induced abortion. However, the confidence intervals of relative risk estimates were large, and the lower confidence limit was close to unity, particularly for nonobstetric controls. Thus, in consideration of the potential bias related to selective mechanisms, caution is necessary in the interpretation of the results.

Steganography promises confidentiality of data being transmitted between two parties by hiding the very existence of the data. It helps to achieve secure transmission of data over a network. This research paper provides a technical introduction of image steganography and its implementation using Least Significant Bit (LSB) technique with Huffman Coding. It focuses on the use of Huffman Coding Algorithm to minimize the amount of bits to be embedded into the carrier in order to achieve efficient image steganography.

Simulated design and analysis of a simple tri-band microstrip antenna is presented in this paper. A thin transmission line is used to excite the rectangular patch and FR4 epoxy with relative permittivity of 4.4 is used as substrate. To confirm the proficiency of proposed antenna, simulations have been performed in Ansoft HFSS (High Frequency Structure Simulator) a 3D electromagnetic field simulator, based on finite element method. Impedance bandwidths are determined on -10 dB at resonating
more &raquo; ... encies of 2.4, 3.3 and 5.3 GHz. An introduced design covers the requisite bandwidth for IEEE Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) standards: 802.11 a/n, b/g (Wi-Fi), Bluetooth, ZigBee, and 802.16e (WiMAX). Multiband functionality, small size, light weightiness, plain configuration and conformability are the advantages; making the proposed design a good contender for integration in handheld wireless devices.

In this paper, an ultra-wideband (UWB) planar monopole antenna is proposed whose design is quite simple in profile. The anticipated antenna is composed of a rectangle with corner truncation applied on each corner, with the slits on three truncated corners and a rectangular slot in the middle of patch. The simulated results are obtained using HFSS (High Frequency Structure Simulator) and furthermore the antenna is fabricated on RT Roger Duroid 5880 with the substrate dimensions of 30 mm2 and the
more &raquo; ... height is 0.787 mm with relative permittivity of 2.2. To acquire the maximum bandwidth, a comprehensive parametric study has been carried out to optimize the dimensions of an antenna. Both; the simulated and measured results attests that antenna has wide bandwidth, which ranges from 1.65 GHz to 17.6 GHz and 1.65GHz to 14.5GHz (S11<-10) respectively, along with fine characteristics like good gain, stable radiation pattern and consistent impedance matching.

Lactic Acid Bacteria: Promising Role against Coronaviruses

Ramaiya. The Covid-19 continues to wreak havoc on many countries and create a lot of changes in people's everyday lives all over the world. As the Covid-19 pandemic is raging across the world, the broader economic crisis is also emerging and creating major challenges to food security and nutrition. Many of the affected countries have implemented a regional lockout policy. This strategy enforced a plethora of Covid-19 security measures such as movement control, supermarket, restaurant and market
more &raquo; ... closure, quarantines and supply chain and trade disruption which greatly impacted agricultural production, food supply and demand. About 820 million people worldwide suffer chronic hunger not eating enough caloric energy and balancing diet to lead healthy lives. They are extremely vulnerable to any interruption in their livelihood or to food access. Moreover, small-scale farmers are impervious as they hindered to working on their land and accessing markets to sell of their agricultural produces. For instance, evidence suggests that quarantines and panic during the outbreak of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone in 2014 -2016 resulted in a spike in chronic food insecurity, hunger and malnutrition. Protectionist measures across the globe could exacerbate the impact of the Covid-19. Panic-buying disrupts the distribution of food. As Covid-19 spreads, they temporarily produce many stockpiling staples and fresh produce, leaving markets empty. Agricultural economists worry about Covid-19 's current situation and impending implications. The food supply chain is a dynamic network involving producers, consumers, agricultural and fisheries input, processing and storage, transportation, and marketing. Disruptions are limited as food supply has been adequate for now, and markets have been stable. However, the limitation is prolonged, resulting in increased rates of food waste. This scenario is so apparent in rural areas, where the smallholders used to sell their produce on at morning and night markets. Small-scale farmers are vulnerable because they are prevented from working on their land and are likely to impede the access of farmers to markets, limit their productive capacity, and discourage them from selling their produce. Covid-19 is having a far greater impact than the end of the supply chain; farm workers, logistics suppliers and more are struggling to keep up and it affects the supply of fresh produce and staples. For example, lockdown and trade barriers across Asia due to the Covid-19 pandemic have pushed rice-one of the region's largest agricultural commodities firmly into the spotlight potential volatility in both supply and cost. This have raised fears over food supply. However, since 1st May the export quota of Vietnam have been removed and therefore the concerns over rice are now resolved. Global eating patterns in the aftermath of the widening Covid-19 pandemic have changed drastically. Usually when lower incomes and uncertainty cause people to spend less and result in lower demand. Consumption habits and consumer behaviour shift globally and this scenario can be clearly observed among urban people because of restricted supply of fresh food. With stalls and restaurants closing down as entire countries get into lockdown; retailers across the world have been struggling to satisfy rising demand at the supermarket or via delivery apps. Canned foods and fast snacks are back in trend while some natural products are flying away from the shelves. During the lockdown, people are less visiting food markets that affect their food choice and consumption. Urban people more prefer to consume canned or processed foods and also fast foods. Survey that have even conducted at Italy shows that demand for ready to eat food that can be stored increased up to 60% for canned meat, 55% for canned beans and 22% for tomato sauce. These trends lead to difficulties to sell fresh produce.

AbstractIslamabad, being the capital of Pakistan, is attracting every business. Thus, the city is growing towards traffic congestion as the city's car ownership rate is rapidly growing. In such a situation, for successful implementation, the policymakers need to understand the public acceptance of carpooling services based on its key motives and constraints. This research explores the key motives and constraints to the introduction scenarios of carpooling service in Islamabad. A stated
more &raquo; ... e questionnaire survey was conducted via Google Form comprising several parts relating to carpooling. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were processed, and a structural model was developed. Females (both single and married) were less orientated to carpool with males and married males with females. Unknown carpooling partners negatively influenced the factor of intention to shift to carpooling service. Our study provides policymakers and transport planners with an appropriate forecasting model of significant factors. In addition, it provides suggestions to transport planners to design promotional tools to enhance the tendency of carpooling among private car users in favor of reducing traffic congestion and increased car ownership rate in the city.

The amount of biomedical data continues to grow rapidly. However, the ability to collect data from multiple sites for joint analysis remains challenging due to security, privacy, and regulatory concerns. We present a Secure Federated Learning architecture, MetisFL, which enables distributed training of neural networks over multiple data sources without sharing data. Each site trains the neural network over its private data for some time, then shares the neural network parameters (i.e., weights,
more &raquo; ... gradients) with a Federation Controller, which in turn aggregates the local models, sends the resulting community model back to each site, and the process repeats. Our architecture provides strong security and privacy. First, sample data never leaves a site. Second, neural parameters are encrypted before transmission and the community model is computed under fully-homomorphic encryption. Finally, we use information-theoretic methods to limit information leakage from the neural model to prevent a curious site from performing membership attacks. We demonstrate this architecture in neuroimaging. Specifically, we investigate training neural models to classify Alzheimer's disease, and estimate Brain Age, from magnetic resonance imaging datasets distributed across multiple sites, including heterogeneous environments where sites have different amounts of data, statistical distributions, and computational capabilities.

We present an Arduino-based automation system to control the streetlights based on solar rays and object's detection. We aim to design various systems to achieve the desired operations, which no longer require time-consuming manual switching of the streetlights. The proposed work is accomplished by using an Arduino microcontroller, a light dependent resistor (LDR) and infrared-sensors while, two main contributions are presented in this work. Firstly, we show that the streetlights can be
more &raquo; ... ed based on the night and object's detection. In which the streetlights automatically turn to DIM state at night-time and turn to HIGH state on object's detection, while during day-time the streetlights will remain OFF. Secondly, the proposed automated system is further extended to skip the DIM condition at night time, and streetlights turn ON based on the objects' detection only. In addition, an automatic door system is introduced to improve the safety measurements, and most importantly, a counter is set that will count the number of objects passed through the road. The proposed systems are designed at lab-scale prototype to experimentally validate the efficiency, reliability, and low-cost of the systems. We remark that the proposed systems can be easily tested and implemented under real conditions at large-scale in the near future, that will be useful in the future applications for automation systems and smart homes.
