We design and fabricate an ultrahigh coupling efficiency (CE) fully etched apodized grating coupler on the siliconon-insulator (SOI) platform using subwavelength photonic crystals and bonded aluminum mirror  ...  Fabrication error sensitivity and coupling angle dependence are experimentally investigated.
