A novel approach for discovering vulnerability in commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) IoT devices is proposed in this paper, which will revolutionize the area.  ...  The extensive experimental results show that WMIFuzzer could achieve expected result while 10 vulnerabilities including 6 zero-days in 7 COTS IoT devices were discovered.  ...  As COTS IoT devices usually do not have the support for local monitoring, WMIFuzzer has to infer whether a vulnerability is triggered by monitoring the device network.  ...

This chapter explores the issue of building tools for reverse engineering.  ...  The purpose of each lens is to focus on a critical topic for tool building by surveying the current state-of-the-art and identifying challenges that need to be addressed.  ...  Bass et al. state, ''each domain has its own requirements for availability, modifiability, performance, security, or usability'' [63] .  ...

Concepts for handling heterogeneous data transformation logic and their integration with TraDE middleware [article]

Vladimir Yussupov, Universität Stuttgart, Universität Stuttgart
<span title="2017-12-21">2017</span>
In this master thesis we analyze various aspects of this problem and conceptualize an extensible framework for handling the data transformation applications.  ...  The TraDE Middleware and underlying concepts were introduced in order to provide means for performing the modeled data exchange across choreography participants in a transparent and automated fashion.  ...  A path to the library or binary needs to be specified. In case of a binary, explicit parameters might need to be defined.  ...
