A combined clinical, histological, cytomorphological, immunophenotypical, and cytogenetic diagnostic approach allowed the complete classification of only a minority of patients as being affected by splenic marginal zone or lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma; the majority of cases remained unclassifiable. Multivariate analysis showed that the clinicohematological variables adversely related to overall survival were serum LDH levels and age, whereas high serum LDH levels, hemoglobin levels of <11 g/dl, and splenomegaly related to treatment-free time (in "wait and see" cases); only splenomegaly related to time to progression (in treated patients). The ALICE detector was designed to track and identify particles in a wide transverse momentum range, from more than 100 GeV/c down to ~100 MeV/c. The innermost barrel-like detector, the Inner Tracking System (ITS), is dedicated to precise tracking and to primary and secondary vertices reconstruction. Precise tracking is required to reconstruct and separate the primary vertex of interaction from secondary vertices from hyperons and heavy-flavour meson decays: some examples of the achieved results are shown.
The convolution operator at the core of many modern neural architectures can effectively be seen as performing a dot product between an input matrix and a filter. While this is readily applicable to data such as images, which can be represented as regular grids in the Euclidean space, extending the convolution operator to work on graphs proves more challenging, due to their irregular structure. This allows us to define an entirely structural model that does not require computing the embedding of the input graph. Our architecture allows to plug-in any type and number of graph kernels and has the added benefit of providing some interpretability in terms of the structural masks that are learned during the training process, similarly to what happens for convolutional masks in traditional convolutional neural networks. We perform an extensive ablation study to investigate the impact of the model hyper-parameters and we show that our model achieves competitive performance on standard graph classification datasets.

Androgenetic alopecia is characterized by progressive hair follicular miniaturization, caused by the actions of androgens on the epithelial cells of genetically susceptible hair follicles in androgen-dependent areas. Although the exact pathogenesis of androgenetic alopecia remains to be clarified, research has shown that it is a polygenetic condition. Numerous studies have unequivocally identified two major genetic risk loci for androgenetic alopecia, on the X-chromosome AR⁄EDA2R locus and the chromosome 20p11 locus. Conclusions Candidate gene and genome-wide association studies have reported that single-nucleotide polymorphisms at different genomic loci are associated with androgenetic alopecia development. A number of genes determine the predisposition for androgenetic alopecia in a polygenic fashion. However, further studies are needed before the specific genetic factors of this polygenic condition can be fully explained.
