Semantic Annotation of Pedagogic Documents

To teach, teacher needs help for sharing these educational documents, and especially his knowledge. We present an approach to overcome the difficulty of sharing educational materials and facilitate access to content; we describe semantically these documents to make them accessible and available to different users. The main idea in our annotation approach is based on: (1) Identify key words in a document, to have a good presentation of the document, we extract the candidate words by applying a
more » ... ighting process and another process using similarity measure, These keywords candidates are reconciled with ontology to determine the appropriate concepts. (2) As document reference generally other documents, we propagate the annotations of references for citing document. (3) A process of validation will be applied each time an annotation is added in order to keep the coherence of the base of annotation. After evaluation with several types of pedagogic documents, our approach achieved a good performance; this suggests that teachers can be greatly helped for the semantic annotation of their pedagogical documents.

Web Services Selection Based on Mixed Context and Quality of Service Ontology

A Semi-Automatic and Low Cost Approach to Build Scalable Lemma-based Lexical Resources for Arabic Verbs

This work presents a method that enables Arabic NLP community to build scalable lexical resources. The proposed method is low cost and efficient in time in addition to its scalability and extendibility. The latter is reflected in the ability for the method to be incremental in both aspects, processing resources and generating lexicons. Using a corpus; firstly, tokens are drawn from the corpus and lemmatized. Secondly, finite state transducers (FSTs) are generated semi-automatically. Finally,
more » ... s are used to produce all possible inflected verb forms with their full morphological features. Among the algorithm's strength is its ability to generate transducers having 184 transitions, which is very cumbersome, if manually designed. The second strength is a new inflection scheme of Arabic verbs; this increases the efficiency of FST generation algorithm. The experimentation uses a representative corpus of Modern Standard Arabic. The number of semi-automatically generated transducers is 171. The resulting open lexical resources coverage is high. Our resources cover more than 70% Arabic verbs. The built resources contain 16,855 verb lemmas and 11,080,355 fully, partially and not vocalized verbal inflected forms. All these resources are being made public and currently used as an open package in the Unitex framework available under the LGPL license.

Representation of textual documents by the approach wordnet and n-grams for the unsupervised classification (clustering) with 2D cellular automata: a comparative study

In this article we present a 2D cellular automaton (Class_AC) to solve a problem of text mining in the case of unsupervised classification (clustering). Before to experiment the cellular automaton, we vectorized our data indexing textual documents from the database REUTERS 21,578 by Wordnet approach and the representation of text documents by the method n-grams. Our work is to make a comparative study of two approaches to representation that is the conceptual approach (Wordnet) and the n-grams.
