Abstract

The thioarsenate(III) (enH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>)<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>(As<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>S<jats:sub>6</jats:sub>)<jats:sub>2 </jats:sub>· 6en 1 (en = ethylenediamine) has been prepared by the reaction of ethylenediamine with As<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>S<jats:sub>3</jats:sub> and its structure established by X-ray structural analysis. 1 contains discrete cyclic As<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>S<jats:sub>6</jats:sub><jats:sup>3-</jats:sup> anions with a six-membered As<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>S<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>-ring in the chair conformation. The As atoms display a ψ-tetrahedral coordination
