Abstract

This paper is an empirical research based on the role & importance of the knowledge management (KM). Knowledge Management has developed at a usually fast rate as a field of practice and learning often described as "learning organizations". A business is considered as a aggregation of knowledge & information. In today's ever-changing market, Companies prioritize to create a knowledge management framework that supports knowledge moving through systems, departments and groups of people-changeable and actionable-every step of the way. Many large companies and non-profit organizations have resources dedicated to internal KM efforts, often as a part of their business strategy, information technology, or human resource management departments. Several consulting companies also exist that provide strategy and advice regarding KM to these organizations. For example APPLE has employed KM software for the business and consumer. As it is said "Knowledge management will never work until corporations realize it's not about how you capture knowledge but how you create and leverage it."-Etienne Wenger
